Grey Goose vodka

This is the mobile website for Grey Goose vodka. It is interesting. Typography and the organization of the information is fantastic. But I just do not like the setup and the layout of the page. When you press the menu button in the header it brings you down to the very bottom of the page which is where the navigation is. Therefore if you hit the menu button it takes you down about 5000 pixels to where the navigation is. Then you have to scroll all the way back up to see the beginning of the information. It's just silly and needless. just wish there were less information on each page and navigation was on a separate page.

Colorado mobile site

this one is the state site for Colorado. Navigation is kind of cool. You press the menu button in the top corner in the nav drops down to cover the whole page, and I like the font variation in the links. each of the subpages are pretty similar. They have a title a brief description and several picture style links. It's very simple, but I like the color scheme, the legibility, and the overall look.  It is very successful in providing the user with popular activities within the state. 

threeshire inn's giant nav

This is a mobile site for the threeshires inn. I'm not the biggest fan. The sub pages are very text heavy which is never good. I don't think any customer is going to read all the information. The home page is pretty cool. this site is set up with a giant navigation that takes up the whole page on every page and you have to scroll down several page links to see the rest of the information. Its somewhat interesting but it is not a user friendly design.

Lubbock texas

This is the Lubbock, Texas town web site. I love it. The big photo on the home page just screams hometown Texas. The simple navigation logos are very friendly to the eye. Then when you go to the sub pages the navigation drops down to a nav bar at the bottom. Works great which is the most important, but it also looks really good. Makes me want to visit Lubbock Texas.

Great functionality, but ugly!

This is from intangible.com, a well rounded graphic designer and web designer. I don't mind the homepage so much. The illustration and the navigation is pretty cool and unique, but the typography and the spacing on the other pages is god awful. The serif fonts with the opac drop shadow he is so ugly and so hard to read. It sucks that this designer has such a poorly designed site because the sites functionality is excellent. It is soon as well and the navigation is great but the overall design is just very off putting.

14four.com good idea, but broken

this screenshot is from 14four.com, which their mobile site is so broken I don't even know what they do. The image above is their "work" page. it looks like there is a background photo and then A scrolling block style that displays their work. But, as soon as the page open it kicked the images off the side of the screen and you can't zoom or scroll to the side so the user is stuck looking at half of their images. Which is a shame because it looked like a cool design and I love the color scheme and the navigation is beautiful but I cannot see their work or their information. Therefore I will move on to a different company and they would have just lost a customer.

style.com pinch to zoom

This is a nother post about style.com. This image is from there Gallery. It uses a cool feature that some of us take for granted where you can pinch and squeeze to zoom in and out. Again it is a simple concept but it is extremely user-friendly and nessessary when you are displaying images and clothing. This way, users can zoom in to get a closer look at specific items. But, because this action uses a good amount of processing power,the sites php is set up so only devices with a high resolution, and high processor can use this function. therefore this awesome feature is available for phones that can use it but it won't break the site on older phones.

style.com double carousel

I love this design concept and would love to know how it is done. On Style.com they use a double carousel on their events page to help you scroll through events and dates. Its roles extremely well and is very user friendly. Simple but cool which is exactly what you want on a mobile website.
